Decorating from A-Z (A isfor Art)

A for Art.  Can you imagine walls without art?  Walking into a home that has a blank canvas?  While it may seem unusual,  it is a personal choice we all have a right to exercise.  I have seen minimal styles that are fab and prolific art displayed that’s plain genius.  It’s really just up to your personal taste.  I am often inspired by art and have built designs around one single piece.  Here are a few examples of great pieces and great resources using art.  I believe that the right piece can elevate a space and make it feel personal and inviting.  Do you have a favorite art source? How important is art to you?

I love this bedroom piece. It’s emotes a sense of serenity.

If you’re in the market for affordable art, here are a couple of websites that can get you started.  Try art.com and artistsrising.com.  And don’t forget to  support your local artists.  I like the Cinema gallery in Urbana, who feature various artists and have unique and fabulous pieces.  Check out  http://www.cinemagallery.cc/Ford_Painting.htm for their current featured artists.  If you’re in the market for photography, Larry Kanfer’s studio does an amazing job.  Here’s his link kanfer.com.
