J is for Jacquard textiles.  So what are they exactly and why should we decorate with them?

They are intricately woven fabrics that reveal patterns and tone on tone designs.  Think Brocades and Damasks (forms of Jacquards).

Here are 6 reasons why you should consider decorating with Jacquards. Because…..

  1. Colorful jacquard fabrics are perfect for adding a touch of richness and textural interest to a room’s décor.
  2. The fabric makes great accent pillows for formal and traditional spaces.
  3. Some tapestries are a form of the jacquard weave and make great focal points as wall art.
  4. Jacquards make window treatment .
  5. And Bedding which can add a classic aesthetic to your space.   For bedding, try a reversible custom look using a Textural Jacquard on one side and a solid fabric on the other?  I love it when you can have two looks in one, and extend the life of your duvet, comforter or bedspread.

6.  Reupholstering a chair seat, or chaise?  Jacquards can make great choices.  What do you think of this?  The above fabric reads very well on this chaise, right?
