Is That See Through? – Going Sheer is what’s up

I can see you!  I’m getting more and more beautiful SHEER choices from fabric vendors these days.  And I must say they are gorgeous!  So just how do we decorate with these beautiful sheers?

Sheers as window treatments

They make a wonderful addition to a casual space.. think flow-y, breezy panels.

If you have a nice view, sheers are a way to shield the sun but keep your view.

If you like changing your window treatments seasonally, sheers are a great choice for the cooler months, particularly unlined.

Sheers can be hung alone, lined or with heavier drapery panels .

Sheers are very versatile

  • Pleated
  • Rod Pockets
  • Grommet topped
  • Satin topped
  • Draped
  • Lined
  • Shirred
  • Swagged
  • Ballooned shades
  • Pleated Shades
  • Sheers can also be used to drape over a canopy bed
  • They make beautiful dust ruffles

The possibilities go on and on.  Here are a few pics taken from my fabric collection.  What I like about the sheers is that some are flow-y (great for draping, swags, canopies) and some have beautiful textures that will translate well into pleated shades and shams.

Most come in very wide widths ranging from 104″ -118″ so fewer yards are needed and you have the benefit of fewer seams.

This is just a small sample of what we have, seeing and touching them in person will make you swoon……really!

These sheers warm the space without being overwhelming

More ideas decorating with sheers.

I love the grommet topped panel with the satin trim(bottom left corner) This is a great way to give your sheers a little more character and it functions as a way to give the fabric more substance for inserting grommets.

How fun are the translucent chandelier and candlesticks? love them!

Lets not forget to enhance our treatments with beautiful hardware, the jewelry that makes your treatments sing!

The above collections are from BRIMAR.

As you can see there’s a lot you can do with sheers.  From fabrics to fashion and home decor….Are they right for you?
