Light Up the Room

Recently, my mother and I were going through our cluttered
basement when we came across some old lamps. Each lamp varied so much, we had old antique glass lamps, lamps that looked like hand painted works of art,
and even a sleek, modern stainless steel one.

This cleaning expedition got me thinking about how lighting is such an important part of any home decor indoors and out. Good lighting can set the mood for a whole event! Therefore I’ve decided to showcase some really cool ways to light up your home.

The Classics

In my humble opinion you can never go wrong with a well-placed
sconce. It’s a simple easy way to add soft lighting or a dramatic effect to any space.

This chandelier design is so cool. I love how the mirror (placed on its base) makes it look like it’s coming straight out of the ceiling. If you are a person who likes a modern twists on standard pieces this light fixture is for you.

These next rooms are great examples of how to make your lamps the focal point of a room. The yellow color in the bedroom pops and is sure to brighten your day with it’s vibrant hue.

I also really like these glass lamps.  They are ideal for a foyer as they create a point of interest coming into the door.  The pair creates a symmetrical  balance and draws the eye to the art in between.

The Soft Glow

This is my favorite depiction of what good lighting can do for a whole room. Everything from the curved lamp on the floor, the telescope light in the corner and the canoe lighting above provides a welcoming yet dramatic space.  Just looking at this room makes me want to go in and have a good time.

Baby’s Space

These lamps were just too precious to pass up.  A baby’s nursery is an expression of a parents creativity and love for their child. The crochet lamps are not only interesting to look at, but they get your baby off on the right interior design foot!

The Outside Needs Love

The front of your home is the first thing anyone sees when they come to your home. Make sure your house stands out from the crowd with lighting that accents your homes best features.
