Unexpected Uses: Part 2! New Uses For Common Things

Imani is at it again with sharing some cool ideas using everyday items.

Earlier in the year, I wrote a blog post about unexpected ways to use everyday items in your home. Well it’s happening again folks, I’m seeing all these super cool ways to organize your life on the cheap.  So here we go again! Can you tell i’m excited….

Magnetize Your Mess

I love these magnet boards. I’m always digging around my make-up bag looking for something and this board is the perfect way to organize the mess without taking up any counter space. The same principle applies for the spices as well. You can easily see which one you need by putting the names on the bottoms. This is a must do for me.

Bread Tab Labels

I know everyone has experienced this frustration. Having to crawl under or behind some piece of furniture to hunt for that one specific cord. Well those days are over, and the best part is you can use the tabs of the bread you’re buying for labeling which cord goes where.

Water Rings be Gone

I know my mother used to complain about my brother and I leaving rings on the furniture. I wish she had known this simple trick when we were little.  All you have to do is blow dry the spot for about 20 min and voila! The ring is gone.

Button Pillow

If you’ve got buttons laying around the house and absolutely no idea what article of clothing they belong with, why not turn them into a throw pillow?  While I like this pink, I think it would look even better if the buttons were a little more mismatched. What do you think?

Shrink No More

This might be the best investment in my future next to going to college. Ok, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I cannot begin to tell you how many pieces i’ve lost to accidental drying.  Now all I have to do is keep a dry erase marker on top of the dryer and write down which pieces I’m washing that cannot go in the dyer. Brilliant, just brilliant.

Do you have any favorite unexpected uses for things?
