Plant New Life in Your Home
On a scale from 1-10 How green is your thumb? If you’re like me it’s not very green. I get so disappointed in myself when I bring a beautiful, lush green plant home and after a few weeks it seems to be crying out “water, food somebody help me”! Caitlin’s post will give us “non” Green thumbs some encouragement to try again.
Do you have plants in your home? This may be nothing new if you have a green thumb. For those who don’t, house plants have many benefits health and design wise. Plants reduce carbon dioxide, provide clean air, and can even reduce dust in the home. They also bring life and color to a room and work as great accents in empty spaces. Here are 4 ways to try plants in your home.
Fill Empty Space
Do you have a corner or another empty space in your home that you don’t know how to fill? Adding another piece of furniture could detract from your focal point. I like the idea of adding a tall plant that won’t take away from the main pieces of the room but will still create drama.
This potted plant brings life to the room. It creates height that otherwise wouldn’t be noticed.
Adding Color
Vibrant green plants can bring an extra punch to a neutral room. Against a white background, the green will complete the look.
Interesting Pots
To really spice up your plants, place them in unique pots. This could be a great DIY project. Just browse Pinterest to find one you love.

New Places
Think outside the box when placing plants in a room. There are lots of spaces and corners that could use an accent or two.
Don’t have a working fireplace? Shake things up by adding greenery.
You don’t have to have huge house plants to add a little green in your life. These delicate plants add something extra to this chandelier but do not overwhelm the overall look.
