Lifestyle: Interior Design For The Queen

After Ireland, I headed to Edinburgh, Scotland where I got the opportunity to tour the Royal Yacht Britannia. It was so cool to be able to see some interior design for British Royalty.

The Royal Britannia sailed the waters carrying the Queen and the Royal Family for 44 years. It was taken out of service in 1994 and is now a popular tourist destination. Touring the Britannia allowed me to see much of the interior of the ship and the way it would have looked while the Queen was on board.

Above is a picture of the Drawing Room, where the Queen would relax with her guests aboard the ship.

This is the Queen’s room. Very simplistic, probably because all she did was sleep in here. There were so many other rooms on the boat where the Queen spent her time throughout the day.

This is a picture of the State Dining Room, where everything was perfectly placed. The crew would take hours to prepare this room, measuring with rulers to make sure each place setting was exactly the same. Can you imagine having to do that for your own dining room?
