Our Current Obsession: Highpoint Market “Finds”
So I just got back from the Highpoint market and “wow”, what a treat for the eyes! Seeing all the latest trends in design has served up some serious inspiration. Below are the most common concepts I saw:
1. Architectural
Architectural pieces tend to have a sculpture-like feel to them. These statement pieces can be a great addition to you home.
2. Glamour
When I think of glamour, I think of white, silver, black, glass, glitter and light. Above, are some of the different interpretations I saw of this style.
3. Brights
Or, “pops of color” as I like to call it, were all over the showrooms. To avoid over saturating your home with color, pick 2 or 3 elements to add to a neutral space. I love the idea of a dresser, or bedside table in a fun hue.
4. Area Rugs
Rugs were textural and bright, with the potential of becoming great focal points in any room.
5. Rustic/Industrial
“Rustic” and “Industrial looks were often paired with other design styles providing an eclectic look.
I always have a great time going to market. It’s an opportunity to learn new trends, advance my knowledge and even meet the most interesting people.
Candace Olsen has just launched a new home furnishings line and graciously took time out to chat. I’m a huge fan of her style.
