Our Current Obsession: Vases worth talking about

by / Saturday, 17 November 2012 / Published in INSPIRATION STATION, Our Current Obsession

It’s true, Vases aren’t that exciting to talk about overall, but these are a few that caught my attention.  All I can say is swoon, swoon, swoon.  Remember, vases come in the last layer of decorating, when the accents and accessories are added.  It’s what gives the space it’s flava.

I have chosen a few to hi-lite in 5 categories; they are whimsical, wall mounted, pop of color, floor vases and nature inspired.  Here they are.

Whimsical

If you like whimsy, these vases are available at West Elm.  They have a matte finish on the outside and a glossy finish on the inside.  Group a few of these together to create an attractive conversation piece. This unique piece is from the Johnathan Adler collection. He has loads more choices.  To view them, click here

Pop of Color

Grouping different shapes together in the same color creates visual drama, especially in a monochromatic space.

Large floor vases

Large floor vases filled with greenery are great for softening the corners in a room.  They’re also attractive in dedicated spaces, like niches.

Nature Inspired

I love incorporating natural elements in design plans.  These beautiful log vases are from West Elm and are perfect for showcasing dried florals or branches.

These vases are a DIY project from last year.  It’s amazing what you can create from  old coffee cans, a few sticks and a hot glue gun.  I brought these out from hiding, added greenery, moss and a few rocks.  They are now taking up real estate on my kitchen table.
