Color Me Fabulous: Hot Trendy Colors for Summer!
Looking for a few ideas to incorporate summer colors in your home? Grace shares some great tips using mint green and neon.
You’ve probably picked up on the hot colors this summer simply by walking through the mall and reading magazines. So I decided to take it one step further. Instead of just wearing the trendy color, I thought I would find ways to incorporate it into the home with simple accessories that will liven up the room!
Mint Green. This pastel is fresh crisp and has a feminine touch but in some cases can still contain a masculine edge. Personally I think this color might be my favorite this season (its actually the color of my nails right now!).
Colorful dishes will add an extra pop of color to your meals, serving platters in this color would be great so you can enjoy the color while its in style but won’t have to buy all new dishes!
A signature piece of furniture in this pop color will freshen up the room with one simple item. Check for chair or sofa covers in this color to make it even easier! This would be especially good for a neutral or bland looking space, the mint green will keep the cool minimalist style but will add a trendiness and hint of warmth.
If mint serving dishes aren’t your thing, think about adding mint green placemats. This one would look great layered on top of a simple cream or light gray placemat.
Neon. I’m not as crazy about this trend but that’s just me. As a 90’s baby I just caught the tail end of the 80’s neon craze but those wild bright colors are coming back!
These vases work inside or outside. Put them on a windowsill or mantle to add that bright pop that can help set off the rest of the room or use them as planters to help draw attention to your prize worthy pansies. Its up to you!
Throw pillows are an easy and inexpensive way to add color and change the whole look of a room. In this case they add just the right amount of neon without putting you on sensory overload.
Refrigerator magnets are another cute way to incorporate this years colors. You can have a blst choosing the shapes and images you want! Its a cutesy way to brighten the room and leaves it with a vintage or nostalgic feel.
