In last week’s post Ricci outlined some of the popular trends this season in decorating  the great outdoors, so I thought that for this week I’d look into some crafty ways to update the space as well!

This website lists different styles of outdoor curtains you can make. What a fun way to add textiles, color, patterns and various textures to your yard! Here are a couple of my favorites:

Most outdoors walkways I have seen are made up of staggered stones or brick but this pathway has a much more unique and rustic look. The best part? Its made of old wooden pallets. Bright colorful outdoor accessories are definitely hot this season and this idea is a simple way to tie your votives in with the colors you have going on in your own yard. You can use them to match your flowers, patio furniture, to add a pop of color, or to decorate for the holiday (Fouth of July, Labor Day, etc.). Also, keep in mind that the lines of paint don’t need to be perfect. The unevenness of the edges are what keeps the votives whimsical. Another way to make these functional is to use a citronella candle. Keep the bugs far away from your beaultiful votives!
