Inspiration: Trends in Window Coverings
This is a Bitter-Sweet week for me. The summer internship with Grace and Matthew has come to an end. Now that classes are back in session, their focus is back on school. Grace leaves us with this week’s focus on Window coverings.
With the creativity explosion that is Pinterest, everyone can integrate fun and unusual décor into their homes! A unique trendy space isn’t just for the crafty anymore!
Later this week I will be talking about one of YDP’s favorite sources for “Ready Made” window treatments, but until then, I thought I would share some of my favorite curtain designs!
- Burlap is a huge trend right now, it fits right in with the mason jar trend! These curtains take a bulky, natural, textured fabric and sweetens it with a feminine rose made of the same fabric. If burlap curtains are a little too extreme for you consider doing a watered down version of this. Use a softer fabric and jazz it up with a flower accent!
- Any kind of fabric draping immediately reminds me of all things Grecian… and I love it! These curtains are unique, whimsical, stylish and perfect for adding a pop of color without overwhelming a space.
- I love the cozy vibe where white gauzy textiles, meets dark and bulky accents. It’s a great combination of both light and dark, callous and soft.
- Also this design would be fantastic for a master bedroom because it is sooo gender neutral with its feminine curtains and masculine accessories.
- I also happen to love when curtains are hung at the base of the ceiling rather than the top of the window. I think that it makes the windows appear much larger and also adds a touch of drama and glamour to a space. Also as a stripe fan, I am also loving the pattern of the curtains in this pic.
