How to: Create a fab photo collage for under $100
A few people asked me to post the How-to steps of a recent collage project for my daughter’s room.
This project is fun, easy and very cost effective. More importantly, it can help create a cool focal point in your home.
1.Get acquainted with a photo editing site. This is the first thing you’ll want to do. Personally, I love Pic monkey because many of their standard features are free and there are so many creative editing options.
2. Upload your favorite quotes and pics to create a collage.
There are a number of layouts to choose from.
I created one collageAnd a few single layouts
I typed a quote onto a single layout here and chose my background color, and font options.
3. Save the images to a jump drive and take them to your nearest photo printing shop for enlargements.
I had Staples enlarge each item as an engineered print. Engineered enlargements are black and white and very affordable.
The rates for enlargements were fantastic!
$1.81, 18 x 24
$3.52, 24 x 36
$5.12, 30 x 42
$7.04, 36 x 48
4. Once enlarged, have them trimmed and laminated for a professional look.
5.Choose removable two sided tape to mount the images for damage free walls
6. And Voila! for under $100, you have created a statement piece and cool focal point for your room.
