How to: Ikea side tables get Glammed up
I am in the process of updating my daughter’s room and found these affordable side tables at Ikea.
She wanted mirrored ones like this one, but they just didn’t seem practical for a young lady whose favorite past time doesn’t involve Windex and a rag. So we compromised on the ones above.
In preparation for spraying the tables silver, I created a shield using a cardboard box to contain the flyaway spray. I picked this smart tip up on Pinterest. It was the first time nearby objects remained the color they were supposed to be.
I selected this metallic paint for it’s high sheen and quick dry benefitsI think my daughter was pleased with the results
Once dry, we’ll place the glass tops on top to complete the look. Stop back on Friday to see them in the finished room.
Is there a room in your home that could use an affordable side table? Choose a vibrant paint color and have fun updating them to match your decor! Hmmm imagine pink, turquoise, white….the possibilities are endless!

Your daughter’s room project was awesome from start to finish! Thanks for the inspiration to get started with my two young daughters room. (note: I would not leave for college if my room looked that nice…could you blame her?!?!?… smile)
LaQuanna, Tks a bunch. As for college, she can’t wait! Of course she’ll have a nice room to come home to on her breaks.
