Monday Inspiration: Decorating a livingroom- Deciding on a layout

I’m currently working on a design plan for the living room below.

I love how the fireplace and curved windows create a natural focal point for the space.living room

As for the furniture layout, there are a few considerations. 

One would be to use a sectional and single accent chair, as shown in this layout.Screen shot 2014-03-24 at 6.49.48 PM

An analogous color palette will allow for smooth transition between rooms.SW6148 SW6155 SW6169ZEN PALETTE

Other welcoming attributes would include an area rug and ceiling to floor drapery panels to introduce added layers of color.

Various levels of lighting (ambient, task, mood) will add function and create an atmosphere that goes from social to intimate.
