Sundays with Ydp: Make your master bedroom “suite-er”
What’s up? I spent some time in Atlanta last week to celebrate my nephew’s high school graduation. I’m a proud auntie, as he received a scholarship for both academics and athletics to Yale university….woot woot!! It was awesome reuniting with my family. Here I am with my nephew,brother and sister
As for this week’s post….
I met a lovely couple who wanted their master bedroom to feel romantic and sensual. They also spent a significant amount of time in this space, to sleep, lounge, read, watch tv and sip wine.
1. We looked at paint colors that had deep, muted qualities. (Deep and muted have sensual and romantic written all over it…. Bright and cheery colors, just wouldn’t hit the mark).
2. Upholstered beds are a good balance to heavy wood furnishings
3.These seating options were a consideration for the foot of the bed and sitting area
4. But we decided that 2 comfy chairs with ottomans, and an area rug (to define the sitting area) were best.
5. An entertainment credenza placed in the sitting area provided a direct view from both the bed and sitting area.
6. Drapery panels would add height, privacy and elegance to the space.

7. No fireplace? No problem! Create the look of one with candles. We love these corner and wall mounted units.
8. We also like these wall sconces. They help to vary the layers of light and cast romantic shadows across the room.
9.Wine carts and mini bars add a nice “suite” factor to the space……This could be hazardous, as you may never leave your bedroom!
10. Your bedroom can be a romantic and sensual space starting with the right paint color to set the mood and ending with details that provide the function you need. What mood is right for your master suite? We would love to help you achieve it.
