Sundays with Ydp: 6 smart tips you can use right away
Happy Sunday ya’ll!
My house is extremely quiet at the moment and I’m basking in the silence. For the past three weeks I’ve had the pleasure of hosting my parents and shortly thereafter, my brother in law and his wive.
We had a blast cooking together, dining out, enjoying a comedy show, sightseeing and just chillin around the house.
My dad seems to always impart wisdom with home improvement tips and my mom had the most amazing aromas emanating from my kitchen.
I grabbed a few tips on caulking from dad and how to make the best darn apple pie this side of heaven from my mom.
While I absolutely loved their visit, it’s time to focus on the final quarter of the year. Can you believe it’s here already? Soon we will be welcoming 2017.
My parents and their wisdom inspired this post. Their tips reminded me of the many smart tips I collect on my Pinterest boards and I figured, maybe it was time to share a few. Here they are.
Tip #1
Dress up tea lights with decorative tape.
Tip#2
This one is for my savvy Target shoppers? If an item at Target ends in 8 it will be marked down again, if it ends in 4 it’s the lowest price it will be.
Tip#3
Instead of wasting leftover wine, freeze it for cooking later. Try Throwing in a few cubes of wine to sauteed mushrooms, soups or sauces…the flavor will be ooh la la!
Tip#4
Protect your hardwoods from scratches by adding felt to the bottom of baskets or abrasive surfaces.
Tip#5
Paint popsicle sticks and label them for each room in your home. Touch ups and shopping for coordinating colors becomes a breeze.
Tip#6
Get ready for soup season. Freeze your prepped ingredients for crock pot readiness
