If you are a wine enthusiast, You’ll love our post
I love discovering unique “finds” that enhance my busy lifestyle.
These two recent discoveries do just that.
Blue Apron, a company that sends delicious weekly meal plans to your home and Vinebox a monthly wine club that’s a little different than the others.
1. With Blue Apron
You get recipes and all of the ingredients you need for fresh gourmet meals. I don’t know about you, but If I can avoid grocery store lines, I’m in! What I love most is, I end up cooking with new spices and foods that I wouldn’t ordinarily use. What you see here are examples of some of the meals I’ve made so far. Blue Apron recommends wine pairings to complete their meals too….Can I get a say what?
2. Vinebox
is a company that sends you three wines by the glass from all over the world and you can choose how often you want to receive them. One little caveat is, they require your signature for delivery. I was literally so excited when my first shipment came a few weeks ago.
Isn’t the design the coolest? The vials are made of glass reminiscent of chemistry class. I’m already thinking of a way to repurpose them.
I enjoy learnng about the wine’s region, year and characteristics and of course how to best enjoy them.
I tried the Sauvignon blanc last night.
Lobster with drawn butter was the recommended pairing. These crab legs were close enough and didn’t disappoint. This wine was mellow, fruity and soft. Perfect for the light, sweet crabmeat. The only downside was It was so yummy, I wanted more. ;(
Trying this wine made me think of all the ways I could enjoy this new discovery, but also who I might share this idea with. After all, the best wines are the ones we share with friends.
With the weather getting cooler, and the holiday season fast approaching, hosting a wine tasting party might be fun.
Imagine this at the front door greeting your guests
Or These cute little wine tags for the bottom of your glass. They’re only $10 for 12 at minted.com and they come in different colors. Can you say stocking stuffers?
The last time we hosted a wine tasting, we used many of the words from this aroma wheel to describe the notes, and finish. It’s amazing how complex some wines are and how some of us can pick up the many nuances they offer.
If you want to learn more about wine pairings Read this great article in Sunset magazine called wine pairings 101
And just for fun, Grab this cool kit I found at walmart.
