Inspiration Monday: 8 great reasons to love craft wrapping paper
So the holiday season is behind us and many of us have lots of wrapping paper left over.
Should you store it for next season or have fun with it now? Well, it depends on what type of paper you purchased.
If you used a seasonal, themed wrapping paper, you may want to store it until next year, but if it is transitional, you can have fun with it now.
One of the things I started doing a few years ago, was purchase craft paper to wrap my gifts with.
I like it for the following reasons:
1. You’ve got two color choices natural (warm) white (cool).
2. Since it’s not seasonal, you really get a lot of bang for your buck.
3. You can use it for upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, Easter, Valentines day, etc.
4. You can change your embellishments, to match up with the theme du jour. For example, juicy red bows work great for Christmas and Valentines day, and silver or gold bows, work well for wedding gifts. A leopard or zebra print bow, would be great for birthdays and anniversaries….you get the picture.
5. You can even personalize the paper with stamps, stickers, paint, markers, stencils, ribbons, felt, twine, silk flowers, real flowers….there’s really no limit to it’s versatility.
6. The brown craft paper can even be used to ship packages.
7. My favorite reason of all is that you get more on the roll, than most seasonal wrapping paper and you can use it all year long for every holiday, occasion or special event.
8. Lastly, kraft paper is awesome for craft projects. Look for a few ideas in Wednesday’s post.
Check out the funky leopard and zebra themed craft paper I found at Home goods this year. It coordinated well with the basic craft paper and fun ribbon choices.
Stop back on Wednesday for fun and practical uses for leftover wrapping paper.
