Spring is here!!!  Woot woot, I’m soooooo happy!  I love this season so much, mainly because it symbolizes longer days, rebirth,  warm delicious weather and finally getting out of the house to enjoy it.

Along with spring cleaning, I get the itch to change things around my home.  The change is oftentimes minimal and not terribly expensive.

Here are 4 EZ updates that you can do in a weekend to breathe a breath of fresh air into your home.

#1

Add a new paint color to a room that doesn’t get much attention….If it’s dark, lighten it up, if it’s light, warm it up.

I decided to repaint my family room.  I chose a muted gray because I’m just feeling this hue lately and the green undertone of  Sherwin Williams Comfort gray just spoke to me.

I like how it feels in the space with daylight and evening shadows.

I removed the window treatments (for now) for a cleaner, more open contemporary vibe.

#2

Invite a new trend.  I decided to replace solid pillows with a few geometric ones.  The geometric trend is popular and I love the interest it adds to the space.

The pop of turquoise works well with my paint color and contrasts beautifully with the chocolate brown sofa.  You’ll notice in this image, that I lifted my blinds to invite mother nature into the room.  The image of the tree branches (soon to be leaves) adds another layer of interest and washes the room with brightness.

#3

Rotate your accessories– The black wall sconces, framed art, ottoman and tray were moved from other areas in the house to harmonize the look….imagine that, I didn’t even have to shop for new pieces.wall art

Idea#4

Pick up some fresh flowers! Don’t wait for special occasions. They are a simple,  yet elegant way of enhancing a space. And they just might make you smile.

The changes in my family room were small and affordable.  Small changes are a great way to add a ReFresh when you’re not ready for a full blown redesign.  The only new additions were the floor lamp, pillows and throw and of course the paint for the walls.

Could your home use a simple and affordable ReFresh?  We can help you with that.  In fact there are tons of awesome pillows and accessories right in our store.  Have you had a chance to see them..  Have a look. Click the link right here.  Shop.yourdesignpartner.com
