Have you noticed a coastal theme in decor, home furnishings and accessories lately? We sure have.
As a result We’ve Gone Coastal this week!
I’ve decided to change things up a bit with the blog.
I added an online shop to my website this past fall, and realized, few people actually know about it.
That’s a problem right? So my philosophy is, if it’s broke, ya gotta fix it! 🙂
So each week, I will introduce you to a few COOL FINDS from our shop. We will feature NEW INTRODUCTIONS, CLEARANCE PIECES, and everything in between.
There will also be a design tip of the week, related to the title and featured items.
In another few days I will be off to Europe (to celebrate my 20th anniversary). My hope is to grab some inspiration to share in an upcoming post.
The image (below) of the Adirondack chairs on the beach, is precisely the perfect image of how I view an ideal vacation.
But with my hubby planning the trip, I can forget about any form of relaxation( lol)…He believes, vacations are for going everywhere and exploring everything!!!!…………All I know is, I’m gettin my relaxation in somehow….
By the way, this print is available at our online shop and is a great reminder that sometimes in life, we need to slow down & just R – E – L – A – X.

Design Tip This Week
Decorating with a (Beach/or any other) theme in mind can be fun, but difficult to know when to put the brakes on. It’s exciting to see your theme represented in all the stores, but be careful not to overdo it
When decorating in a theme
A good rule of thumb, is to Choose a significant item of focus to set the tone or mood, then enhance it with a few other complementary accessories, keeping balance and harmony in mind.
A statement piece might be large scale wall art or decor, a light fixture, wallpaper, a unique area rug, an upholstered chair with cool fabric etc. etc. etc.
Let a statement piece take the lead, while added accessories work to support it. Together they will sing, sing, sing, rhythmically and harmoniously.
