Mint is an herb. I decided to grow this herb in my garden this summer. Who knew how prolific it would be? Certainly not me!   You see, I don’t have a green thumb, and the fact that I was able to grown anything is amazing.

This year I decided to grow cucumbers, tomatoes, parsley, basil, cilantro, butter lettuce, spring mix lettuces, swiss chard, kale, peppers, celery, oregano and zucchini.  For some reason, my oregano and zucchini didn’t cooperate, but my mint was simply out of control.

I typically use mint in a few recipes like Turkey Thai lettuce wraps (one of my family’s favs), mojitos and hot tea, but with the amount of mint I have, I needed way more uses for it than this.

I like that Mint adds a refreshing quality to beverages and adds an additional layer of flavor to recipes.

So how do we store Mint? Grab a few ice trays and…

  • Store mint in olive oil
  • Store mint in broth
  • Store mint in butter

I love the idea from the Gardener’s eden. Store your mint in ice trays for year long enjoyment, then pop them in your fav recipes all year long.

This Week’s Design Tip

Try something new. The color of mint, in the design world is a light pastel hue.  Perhaps this image will inspire you to use it or decorate with a new hue you wouldn’t ordinarily use.
