Our guest blogger Flo is back and keeping us informed about places around Cincinnati. You might remember her recent post for a good wine tasting spot in Cincinnati or last month’s post about getting in shape at her favorite bootcamp.
Here she shares why we might consider starting the year off with a skin care analysis.
It’s Flo, your girl around town and if you’re going to be Happy and Fabulous, moving around the area this year, then the first thing you want to do is make sure you have happy skin!
Skin is the largest organ of the body and regenerates itself every 28 days. Your face is something people see everyday as you move about, so they need to see the best of it right?
So this girl around town took a trip to ULTA, located in Rockwood to have her skin analyzed. I bet you’re wondering what that is and trust me, it is not as bad as it sounds.
I met with Ms.Patti, skin Aesthetician and Registered Nurse from Ulta. She put me under the microscope and gave me a lesson about my skin and what it needs and wants.
Here I was thinking that the spots that were popping out of nowhere were age spots, but in fact were freckles. According to Ms.Patti, every freckle is in fact sun damage to the skin. We talked about what the best and the most affordable treatment would be for me as a woman who moves about and stays on the go, because when you’re on the go sometimes you forego your skin care.
I also wanted you to know how I could protect my beautiful melatonin skin and share Patti’s suggestions.
Ms.Patti suggestions were
(1.) Moisture your skin from the inside out, so make sure to drink plenty of water.
(2.) Understand your skin and skin type. Different skin types, need different regimens.
(3) Develop a skin regimen personalized just for you.
(4.) Wear sun protection regardless of your ethnicity. As an African American woman I’m less likely to get skin cancer but my skin can still suffer from sun damage (yuck).
It’s a lot to take but guys, if you’re going to be happy in this New Year, you have to have Happy Skin. It’s a must! So if you’re nearby, take a minute to see Ms.Patti and find out what services your skin needs best. Your skin will be Happy and New.
