Master Bedroom: Small Changes for Big Impact
Guest post
Have you been thinking about redesigning your master bedroom lately? If the answer is yes, look no further since we’ve come up with several cool changes that you can introduce to this room and make a big impact. We guarantee you that redecorating your bedroom can be super fun and exciting if you let your imagination run wild and are not afraid to incorporate some new elements as well. Let’s take a look at what we’ve prepared for you.
Keep it simple – go natural
Sometimes, people try so hard to come up with a fabulous design that they end up completely overdoing it and turning their bedrooms into the epitome of kitsch and distaste. Therefore, you should take things slow and try to keep it simple and natural. For instance, a natural colour palette can look absolutely beautiful since its subtlety won’t be overwhelming and suffocating. You can start by painting the walls in a nice beige nuance and then combine it with sophisticated grey linens. Finally, green shades are always a welcome accessory since they have a positive impact on our brain, can help us relax and get in touch with our inner self.
A seating area for the ultimate comfort
If your master bedroom is spacious, aside from a king-sized bed, it should have a cosy seating area as well. This is what makes a huge difference and can turn an average-looking room into a royal one. So, if you want to fall in love with your bedroom, think about bringing in a cosy armchair and placing it near the window. You’ll get an amazing reading nook and a chance to enjoy the beautiful view while basking in the sun and drinking your morning coffee. Additionally, you can incorporate an oversized ottoman with hidden storage space inside of it since it can become a true focal point of the room and at the same time be extremely practical for keeping your linens and winter/summer clothes inside. Lastly, if possible, don’t forget to incorporate a coffee table as well and decorate it with a nice potted flower.
Pay attention to details
Most often, details are what matters the most. So, once you’ve set the base, you should start searching for the most appropriate finishing touches. For example, chic silver cushions will break the monotony and add that special modern feel to the room. On top of that, they will turn your bed into a much cosier place for reading and those much-needed afternoon naps.
Brown and white combo
That’s right – instead of sticking to the usual classic black and white combination, you can make a slight change and go with brown instead. These two colours together will create an elegant atmosphere and a slightly masculine feel which will add that special rawness to the entire design. Of course, you can always strike a balance by incorporating floral curtains together with a soft vintage rug, and the room will immediately look warmer and more inviting.
Let the light in
It’s high time you said goodbye to those heavy curtains and said hello to the beauty of sunshine. After all, apart from making your furniture and the room’s decoration look even prettier, sunrays have been shown to have a positive influence on both our body and mind. So, if you want to wake up full of energy and ready to deal with all your daily tasks and obligations, open up your curtains and let the natural light in. On top of that, when it comes to buying perfect light fixtures, remember to invest in those awesome dimmer switches since they will help you create the perfect atmosphere to match your mood and the occasion.
As you can see, you don’t have to go for huge changes in order to style up your bedroom and achieve that wow effect. All it takes is a bit of creativity and a few cool ideas. Of course, going simple is also a valid choice, especially if those kinds of designs are what inspire you the most.
