One Of My favorite remodel Collaborations in 2018

by / Sunday, 09 December 2018 / Published in INSPIRATION STATION, Sundays with Ydp

When I think about my year, what stands out the most is that so much of what I placed on my vision board and prayed for was realized. One of my goals was to partner with a builder in 2018 and I was lucky enough to collaborate with one of the the areas best.

I was pretty intentional when I chose the business name Your Design Partner. The “partner” is especially relevant. Whether with clients, vendors, contractors or trade professionals, the heart the business is built on collaborations and partnerships.  Earlier in the year, I had the pleasure of partnering with Bauscher Construction and remodeling on several projects. This was one of them.  While my focus isn’t typically relegated to designing kitchens and baths, it was my sheer pleasure to design this Hyde park master bath with the Bauscher team. BEFORE

We set out to remodel this lovely bathroom to give it a elegant farmhouse vibe.

Our plan of action

The bathroom was gutted and improved with new plumbing, soaking tub, shower, flooring, tile, fixtures, vanity, lighting etc.

I think I was most excited about our choice of natural barnwood for the vanity and quartz countertop because they created a beautiful juxtaposition and were different than a typical bathroom you might find here in Ohio. These selections drove the inspiration and selections for the rest of the remodel.

Mix it up for interest and contrast

Matchy matchy is so yesterday right?  Don’t be afraid to mix it up a bit. Shiney with matte, rough with smooth.  In the end, the results make a beautiful  magazine worthy statement.

Make your floor a focal point

It was super important for our client to have a captivating floor. We found this lovely tile at Hamilton parker and really hit the mark with the pattern. The pattern connects with the light and dark nuances in the space and screams “I am  bold and beautiful”

Shiplap, Shower floor and Niche details

There are so many details that made this bathroom remodel sing; from the subway tiled shower and mosaic shower floor to the niche (that gave a nod to the bathroom floor) and shiplapped walls around the perimeter. And let’s not forget the plumbing fixtures and drawer pulls.  Everything was uniquely beautiful, all while harmonizing to create a great space.

Whenever I think about this experience, I smile. It was a lovely journey both with the client and Bauscher team. I highly recommend them if you ‘re looking to remodel.  Check them out at www.bauscherconstruction.com
