Assess each room’s details or good bones

Does your home have good bones?

This refers to your home’s natural strengths. The architectural details and feature points like crown moulding, tray ceilings, a stunning fireplace, wood beams, floor to ceiling windows etc. It’s always a great idea to play up your home’s natural strengths.

Play up your room’s best features

  • Find ways to draw the eye to the features in the space. For example style your fireplace with a stunning piece of art that has generational meaning.
  • Consider re tiling your fireplace to give it a refresh
  • Add wallpaper to a wall with a unique shape or paint it a contrasting color
  • Add a custom seat cushion to a bay window
  • Replace your fireplace screen

If there are no natural features consider creating them

  • Add crown moulding
  • Add a full bems to a high ceiling
  • Update your flooring to hardwoods or tile
  • Have custom built-ins made

Large Space?

Make it cozier with deeper tones when choosing paint colors and hang drapery panels to soften the angles.

Small, low light space?

Choose paint colors that do a great job reflecting light (high LRV)

Lighting Update

Update old lighting. It’s an easy change that can yield beautiful results.

Flooring update

Your flooring can be stunning too, maybe by just adding area rugs or completely upgrading/refinishing the flooring throughout your home will yield an awesome refresh
