Let It Snow! Snow And Winter Inspired Decorations
Last weekend I (Marissa) went on a family trip to Wisconsin and woke up one morning to see snow on the ground!
Driving down the road and looking at the enticing snow-covered homes made me think of how pretty it would be if you could have snow inside your home?
The photo below is one of the many snow-covered houses that inspired me to think about using the beauty of snow indoors. What are some of your favorite winter scenes?
Snow is not very pleasant for me when I have to walk or drive in it, but when it comes to enjoying it from the warmth inside my home it is a beautiful winter scene.
It’s why faux snow is such a great decoration for inside your home, not only outside. If you live in an area that does not typically see snow, it’s an even better reason to decorate with “snow”!
Today I am going to show you different snow and winter inspired decorations that my aunt put up in her home.
The snow-lined Christmas tree and the snowballs around it add a very wintery theme to the home. A silver reindeer is also a nice addition and can be found here.
Add a wintery centerpiece to a glass coffee table, or any table you’d like. Sprinkled around the centerpiece are clear acrylic diamonds.
The photo above is a close up of the centerpiece on the coffee table. Lay down a wreath and use it as a centerpiece. Here is an example of a great wreath that could be used as a centerpiece. Then add a small Christmas tree in the middle along with some different varieties of ornaments. See “5 Festive Centerpieces” for more centerpiece ideas.
Decorate around the fireplace with a lighted garland and some ornaments. Here are some examples of ornaments that could be used. Add a vase in the corner with a mix of branches for the finishing touch.
Add some white branches to a vase or bubble bowl and add some fake snow to the bottom, which can be purchased from Pottery Barn, or most craft stores. You could also add light up branches such as these.
The bar is decorated with a white linen runner as the base for a snowy look. Add any kind of decorations you would like on top, like candlesticks or a sleigh filled with ornaments. A small Christmas tree is always a nice touch as well. A silver bead garland is spread across the top, bringing the whole scene together.
What are some of your favorite snow/winter inspired decorations? How are you preparing for the holidays?
