Unexpected Uses
Life is full of the unexpected. Recently, while browsing the
web I came across DIY projects that use typical household adornments as functional
pieces that make life a little easier. Here are some new unexpected uses for
candle sticks, glass containers, bookshelves and a garden rake.
The first piece I found is a chic modern way to update and
organize your bathroom. I love this because if you’re anything like me, your
bathroom can always be a little more organized. The first piece takes dollar
store glass containers and candelabras, glues them together to create a crafty toiletries holder. I’m really intrigued by this creation because it is so easy to personalize. You can choose different shapes for your glass container and spray paint the candelabras to match your home.
Also while browsing the internet I found another great use
for the ever versatile bookshelf. A shoe rack! When I initially saw this
crafty closet organizing idea I nearly died. It was like my New Year’s
resolution to get organized had been answered (at least somewhat). I love the idea of using a bookshelf as a shoe rack because they look like recessed shelves, you can stain them to match your décor and adjust the size to match your shoes. This is a
closet game changer, and I’m in love.
Here I found a super unusual way to bring the outdoors indoors, all while displaying some of your favorite accessories. Here a simple hand rake is being used as an necklace holder. I like this because it’s a little rustic and a little whimsy all at the same time. Plus it helps with my New Year’s resolution to get organized! Enjoy
Another unexpected use for a bookshelf is to use it to store your favorite items like sweaters, purses, hats, jewelry, etc. Will bookshelves become a thing of the past? e-readers can store hundreds of books after all.
This vivid shelving unit made from tables is an “out of the box” solution for storing items. Many new refrigerators have automatic ice makers. If you’ve got extra trays try using them to keep up with small items.
