Join The Conversation: Meet Jackie

How would you describe your style?
I really adore a wide varitey of styles. My home is filled with things that inspire me. An art studio that is very eclectic and vintage; my baby’s nursery that has a chic “Audrey Hepburn” look; my daughter’s room that has a fairy tale / classic children’s book feel with murals and painted furniture, my Tuscan style kitchen and living room and our elegant monochromatic ivory and white master bedroom with gorgeous textures and unique furniture pieces.

What is your favorite hobby?
Creating! I love designing, painting, creating, re-purposing, photographing and doing all things artistic.

What is your favorite color?
I’ve really been into shades of chartreuse and turquoise lately.

Do you follow design blogs? If so, which ones?
I love browsing a variety of art and design blogs and when I find images or articles that really speak to me I pin them on my Pinterest boards.

What is your favorite part of your home/room/office?
My favorite part of my home is the front office space that my husband and I converted into my Art Studio with a great big drafting table and all kinds of storage for my many art supplies and treasures. My kids love hanging out in there too.

Do you have any design dilemmas or challenges you are currently facing?
The perpetual problem of way too many ideas and not enough time! If I could create at the speed of thought then maybe I could get caught up on all the things I want to do. 😉

Where do you go for inspiration?
Just rummaging through my art supplies, books, magazines and treasures is a great source of inspiration…. but honestly, I’m also in love with Pinterest. It’s so addictive, I have to limit my time on it.

What is your favorite inspirational design quote?
Imagination is more important than knowledge.” – Albert Einstein

What is most important to you when decorating or designing?
Creating something you absolutely love. Don’t just do it half way. Use your imagination, break the rules, see things in new ways.

If money were no issue, what would you do to enhance your home?
I would love to have a spacious second floor studio with windows and a balcony all the way around overlooking a big field, trees and mountains.

Jackie’s inspirational photo is of a bohemian home that she found on Pinterest.

I just love the colors and earthy textures and the day-dreamy feel of it. It inspires my imagination. It brought back childhood memories of when my best friend and I had our own secret clubhouse in the end of an old traincar that was on my family’s property.
