Roses are Red: Decorating with Red for Valentine’s Day
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, take a cue from the color of love. Decorating with red can be intimidating since it is such a bold color but when red is used correctly, it commands positive attention from those who enter a room. Whether you choose to add red just for February 14th or for the new year, here are some tips to add the color into your design.
Start Small
Think pillows, candles, and pictures frames as baby steps. Little pops of color do make a big difference.
Red Fabrics
Add red to your bed to brighten up the room. If you want a romantic feel, choose a completely red comforter for your bedroom.

Paint the Town Red
If you are truly inspired, think about painting your walls red. Make sure the room is an open space because red tends to make rooms appear smaller. Another unique look could be to paint one wall red. This would work behind a fireplace, really making the fireplace and the mantel features pop.
Red Furniture
A red piece of furniture can be the focal point and standout among other neutral furniture. This room tames the bright color by surrounding it with cool and neutral accents.
Red for the Kids
You can even bring the inspiration of Valentine’s Day into your child’s room, whether it’s a boy or girl’s room. For a girly look, use pink and red.
Don’t forget to add some fun red and pink decorations in your home in spirit of the holiday. Happy February!
