Conversation Piece
Whatever you may call it, a conversation or a statement piece, you must have at least one in your home. A conversation piece should have a great story behind it or be intriguing enough that guests will immediately strike up a conversation with you to find out, say, where you came across that amazing chandelier. It’s a piece that should become an integral part of your home. Even though it is meant to stand out, it should fit the design of the room.
This bookcase is sure to turn heads. This piece looks like black branches or ivy twisting and growing to reach a point. Just like the picture, I would keep the amount of books on the shelves to a minimum. Too many books could distract from the intricacies of the piece itself. Any sort of accent, such as candles, could be placed on this shelf.
I’m envisioning this week’s conversation piece in a sophisticated neutral room with white and black accents.
For the room below, I think this bookshelf would work well on the right wall. It would balance with the black doors on the left and add more of a statement than the gold clock.
What are your thoughts on this week’s conversation piece? Do you see it with a different color scheme? Let us know your thoughts! Do you incorporate stand out conversation pieces are in your home?
