New Fabrics

I’m like a kid in a candy store when new packages get shipped to me.  Today I received some delicious new fabrics and I can’t wait to share them with clients.  They range from BOLD and FANTASTIC to DEMURE and LUXURIOUS.

Multi purpose linens, cottons, synthetics and blends were the primary focus in today’s shipment.  As I scan each sample, certain projects are going through my mind.

For instance,  I’m  thinking about how one fabric could make great drapery panels or Roman shades, or how another one would really “pop” in a neutral space.  Suddenly I’m recovering dining room chairs, creating a new bedding ensemble, making european shams, throws, reupholstering ottomans and love seats all in my head….whew!  And this is just fabric!

So here are a few examples of what’s got me in such a tizzy

Bold and Beautiful

This beautiful spring palette is very uplifting and inviting.  Working these mixed prints into a room painted taupe, offwhite or beige  would make the furnishings sing hallelu-yer! ( in the words of Madea).

Textured Neutrals

working with a neutral palette doesn’t have to be dull.  Add textural elements to keep it interesting

Straight from the Pantone 2012 Spring Color line
Cockatoo, Margarita, and Starfish from the spring color line are so evident in this piece.  Imagine 2 large euro shams for your bed or decorative pillows for a sofa or love seat.

When you want to make a  Bold Statement

I’ve always loved the contrast of white and black together.  This large scale print could be just the thing your room needs for drama, and punch.  Imagine recovering an ottoman in this fabric. It could really make it a stand out piece.

Simple, subtle Springtime

If you like to update your bedding seasonally, this is a good spring/summer fabric for a coverlet.

Do any of these fabrics appeal to you?  What’s your favorite?
