A Spring Pairing: Coral & Turquoise

You’ll be swept away by Caitlin’s post.  Journey with her as she describes two of her favorite colors.

Two of my favorite colors during this time of year are coral and turquoise. Each color is so vivid after the long winter months. After the recent color blocking trend, I figured these two could be perfectly paired together. These colors can be tricky to work with because both are bold and vibrant. It’s best to use patterns that include a neutral for balance. I love the use of white or navy as the neutrals. This color pairing could be presented as a nautical theme or, when used subtly, can be quite contemporary.

This was the original image that inspired me to pair coral and turquoise. The use of coral is minimal, while the turquoise takes the stage as the main color. The mixing and matching of patterns works well because they all share white as the neutral background.

This image proves you can pair two bold colors together with minimal use of neutrals. Accessories are a great way to pair these colors.

This look is very subtle. The coral and turquoise aren’t nearly as vibrant and there is a greater use of white. The coral prints are able to pop visually because more white fabrics, paint, and furniture were used.

This mood board features some great coral and turquoise accessories you can pick up for your home. The bed is from one of our vendors, Dovetail Furniture. It serves as the perfect center piece because the light wood will really allow the colors to show.
