Color Fabulous: Inspired By Citrus

How refreshing does this look? I came across this image on Pinterest and stopped mid-scroll.

While different people would argue different reasons for what makes this picture so amazing, I think the majority of people would agree that the colors are what makes it stand out.

A mixture of pink, orange, yellow and green sends off messages to our brain such as harmony, love, creativity, optimism, fun and energy. In other words, this picture is psychologically pleasing.

When you come across images like this, naturally you want to hold on to it somehow. Pinterest is great in this way because you can repin the image and share it with your followers, but what about some ways to take it outside of the computer screen?

  • A Pinterest user commented on this photo saying she could make a drawer liner out of it for her pantry. I think this is a fabulous idea!
  • Another idea would be to have it framed and hung in your kitchen or office desk as a way to re-stimulate the positive feeling you get from the picture.
  • Lastly, why not look for colors that are similar in another print or pattern and translate it to your bedding, or pillows for example? Inspiration for your home can come from many different places and some unsuspecting and unexpected.
