Color Fabulous: Old Side Tables Get New Paint

I am finding that with the holidays approaching, our guest room is in need of a refresh?

In a previous post, we talked about how your old furnishing don’t always get along with your new house.

Well, our guest room has given us a similar challenge.  Here’s what I mean.

Room Before:  Isn’t this lovely?  Not!  Our bedding and the warm tones in the pillows are not working at all in the guest room.

So what do you do when you need to fix that, but have a limited budget and a short amount of time?

1. You work with what you have.

2. I grabbed a bedding set from the linen closet that just happened to match the “not so lovely” wallpaper border

3.  I freshened up the side tables with paint

4. Added art and candles from a previous project, that my daughter and I did together.

5. And I borrowed a few pillows and a throw from a previous staging project to pull the look together.

Fresh flowers add a nice touch in the guest bathroomUntil I can repaint, remove the wallpaper border and replace the window treatments, It now feels more cohesive. Perhaps our guests will feel more relaxed in the space too.

As for the Side tables:

I stained these unfinished side tables some 7 years ago, and  was happy to update them with a fun and whimsical look for the guest room.
