This week we’re uncovering a few great discoveries from the Trader Joes Brand.

What is Trader Joes?  it’s a privately owned specialty grocery store chain that has good products at a great value.

1. Affordable wine

They have a decent wine selection and are known for something that folks affectionately call “Two buck chuck”.  While the price is no longer 2 bucks, they have a respectable Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonney, and Sauvignon blanc for under $4.

The Petit Reserve at $7.99 is not bad too.

2. Whole Coffee Beans 

For a good price and great variety, the coffee beans are fantastic.  Two of my favs are below

3. Fresh Flowers

When they are available, I pick up the Tulips, Eucalyptus, Gladioli, and Gerbera Daisies…Get a load of these Daffodils. Only $1.69

4. Sprouted breads are great and while I haven’t tried it yet, I’m told that the sour dough bread is fantastic.

5. Olive tapenade

A girlfriend introduced me to this tasty item.  Placed atop sliced seedless cucumbers,they  make a quick and tasty appetizer.

6.Teas There are so many to try, including Green tea, Ginger tea and Caffeine free Earl Grey.

7. The Cheese selections are fantastic

8. Jojoba oil

My hair stylist recommended the Trader Joes brand, for it’s large size and good value.  I use it to keep my hair moisturized.

9. Coconut oil

Their unrefined, organic coconut oil, is a good value.   If you missed our previous post on how to use Coconut Oil click here

10. Brown Rice is a challenge to prepare when time is not on your side (takes much longer to cook than white rice)  In a pinch, the Trader Joes version (found in the freezer section) is quite good.
