That’s Pinterest-ing: 5 Ways To Connect With Your Inner Artist

I think this quote is perfect for today’s post because it speaks to why many people are timid about trying projects on their own.
Here are a few reasons why we hesitate
  • We don’t trust our skills
  • We overthink what we want to do
  • We’re afraid it won’t turn out right
  • We’re afraid it won’t be perfect
  • So ultimately we do nothing

I challenge you to silence the doubt and go for it!!

Here are 5 ways to connect with your inner artist…..give one a try

1. Create an original piece of art..It can be as simple as letters

This rug could easily be interpreted into a piece of wall art….Try to paint this on canvas, but create your own word or phrase.
Gather a few of your favorite paint colors and just let the brush move. Sponges are great too.

2. Arrange fresh flowers in a vase you painted yourself

3. Embellish items you already have at home (pillows, lamp shades)

4. Create designer pillows with fabric paint (these pillows from hsn.com could easily  be duplicated for a fraction of the cost).  Buy a solid color pillow and create your own design.

5. Express your art in writing….Pen a poem!
